New Strengthening Koorie Inclusive practices with Kindergartens Sessions.
With a focus on Embedding Koorie Perspectives into Early Childhood Programs and Strategies to Engage Local Community’
Building on from VAEAI’s How to make your Kindergarten Koorie Inclusive and Koorie Inclusive Practice Development sessions, our new sessions content has been updated with the aim to strengthen services capacity to embed Koorie perspectives as well as provide strategies and tools to include Victorian Aboriginal resources within services to assist with providing a cultural inclusive environment as well as assisting with local community engagement.
VAEAI Professional Development sessions have been developed by Aboriginal educators for educators and directly relates to the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) and the Australian Professional Teachers Standards 1.4 and 2.4.
This free Practice Development opportunity is offered to teachers and educators working directly within a funded kindergarten program and foundation teachers. The sessions focus on how educators can learn culturally inclusive activities to incorporate into early childhood programs – creating opportunities to develop increased knowledge and understanding of local Aboriginal culture and history. Services will develop an increased understanding on how to deliver inclusive programs for koorie children, families and local aboriginal communities.
