VAEAI Committee of Management

The VAEAI Committee of Management (VAEAI COM) is the decision making body of the organisation, and formulates policies, strategies and programs for Koorie education and training in Victoria. The VAEAI COM comprises of 5 Office Bearers, 8 Specialist Representatives and the LAECGs.

Office Bearers

The Office Bearer positions comprise of:

• President
• Vice President
• Treasurer
• Secretary
• Public Officer

The LAECGs and the Specialist Representatives elect the positions of President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary at the VAEAI Annual General Meeting.

Specialist Representatives

The Specialist Representatives are elected at the VAEAI Annual General Meeting by the VAEAI members and have the responsibility to provide a comprehensive overview of their nominated area to the VAEAI CoM.

The 8 Specialist positions are:

• Early Childhood
• Primary Education
• Secondary Education
• Adult and Community Education
• Vocational Education and Training
• Higher Education
• Koorie Independent Schools
• Catholic Education

LAECGs

LAECG representatives to the VAEAI COM are elected by the relevant local community and are responsible for facilitating the information flow between local communities and the VAEAI COM.

Each of the Current 29 LAECGs has a seat on the VAEAI COM. LAECG representatives must also be a VAEAI financial member.
