Care and Recovery Workers - Bunjilwarra Koori Youth Alcohol & Drug Healing Service

  • 1x Full –time and 2x part time and casuals required

Bunjilwarra (Koori Youth Alcohol & Drug Healing Service) is a 24/7 12 bed youth residential Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) treatment program located in Hastings on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula that acknowledges the importance of culture and (re)connection to culture/community by ensuring the Aboriginal meaning of healing is the foundation of the program.

Bunjilwarra is a partnership between the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service (VAHS) and the Youth Support + Advocacy Service (YSAS). Bunjilwarra is now looking to employ Residential Care & Recovery Workers.

The role of the Residential Care & Recovery Workers is to support the healing and recovery of Aboriginal young people with problematic drug and alcohol use in Bunjilwarra by promoting and maintaining a culturally safe and supportive environment, in line with Therapeutic Community principles.

Aboriginal Victoria (AV) is looking to appoint an engaging and passionate Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person to be an Aboriginal Community Development Broker (Broker) for the Western/Southern Gippsland region of Victoria.

The role of a Broker is to engage with the local Aboriginal networks (LANs) to access grants and services to build the capacity of local Aboriginal communities and strengthen the ability of local Aboriginal people to be actively involved in economic, social and civic activity.
